Wanna Read What Your Fave Authors Read?

What's on your book table right now? Same titles as on one of your favorite authors' current reading stack? Probably not, but it's fun to think about. After all, if you enjoy their work, it's likely you'll enjoy the titles that nourish their imagination.

Here's what Anne Lamott said way back in 2012 she was currently reading or had recently read. Along with some confessions (The National Enquirer?!). But that's like her, isn't it?

FICTION: Cristina Alger, The Darlings; Margaret Attwood, The Poisonwood Bible; Alethea Black, I Knew You’d Be Lovely; Laurie Colwin, Happy All the Time; Ann Patchett, State of Wonder. NONFICTION: Katherine Boo, Behind the Beautiful Forevers; Junot Díaz, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao; Douglas Foster, After Mandela; Erik Larson, In the Garden of Beasts; Mikey Walsh, Gypsy Boy.

So what's on your list?

The Strong Word is catching up on Marilynn Robinson's Gilead in preparation for her new Lila. Plus Once an Arafat's Man by Tass Saada and Morality for Beautiful Girls by Alexander McCall Smith. Fun!
