The Strong Word | Communication Services was founded by Anita K. Palmer, an editor, journalist and marketing-communications writer
with 30 years of experience.

After countless articles, headlines, manuscripts, news releases, brochures, annual reports and business features in newspapers, magazines, media relations, and business and marketing communications, Anita Palmer has the versatility and scope to provide any level of service on a myriad of projects.
Her top strengths are her background in journalism, giving her speed, accuracy and breadth of knowledge; a passion for writing and editing; and a focused professionalism. She also loves the interaction of words and graphics, and has a pretty good design eye.
She has worked as managing editor of a national monthly magazine. She has created Web copy and maintained Web pages; produced business communications; and edited both academic tomes and educational publicity material. She understands how the media work and how journalists think, which makes her a good go-between. (She has written more news releases than she can count.) Strategizing is fun for her.
In the book industry, Palmer has tackled nonfiction and fiction book manuscripts on a freelance basis for such luminaries as George Barna, Henry Cloud, John Townsend and Elisabeth Elliot. She’s been hired by Harcourt Children's, Harper Collins Publishers, Random House Inc., and Simon & Schuster Inc. She has helped out prominent Protestant publishers such as Thomas Nelson, NavPress, InterVarsity, Eerdmans, and many others. (See a full list of clients.

When she left the newsroom after 13 years as a reporter and news editor, she took her news nose with her: she can’t get through the day without reading at least two newspapers, checking broadcast headlines, logging on to the Internet, and paging through three weekly newsmagazines. She’s traveled in Europe and lived across the United States. (Her home base is Southern California but her heart is in the Rocky Mountains.)
